Terms of Use

1. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years of age (16 in the European Economic Area) to use the app. By registering, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and complete. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure because your account grants access to personal journal entries, prayer requests, and synced data across all your devices.

2. Subscription and Billing

Access to the full app requires an active subscription, currently offered at $5.99 USD per month. Subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store, Google Play, or RevenueCat. You agree to pay all fees associated with your chosen plan.

• Billing cycle: Your subscription renews automatically every month unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Cancellation: You may cancel anytime through your Apple or Google account settings, or through RevenueCat where applicable. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: All purchases are final. Refunds are governed by the policies of Apple, Google, or RevenueCat and are not issued directly by us.
• Price changes: We may change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose.
• Post or share content on the community wall that is hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, harassing, defamatory, or that promotes violence or self-harm.
• Post personally identifying information about yourself or others on the community wall.
• Attempt to access, disrupt, or interfere with the app's servers, databases, or security measures.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app.
• Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions, bans, or subscription requirements.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to interact with the app.

4. Community Wall

The community wall allows users to share prayer requests and encouragements publicly within the app. All posts are attributed to a pseudonymous handle, not your real name or email. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, moderate, and remove your content as necessary to operate and protect the community.

We reserve the right to remove any post, restrict or suspend any account, and report illegal or dangerous activity to appropriate authorities. We are not liable for the content posted by other users.

5. AI-Generated Content

The app uses third-party AI models (currently Google Gemini, accessed through the Lovable AI Gateway) to generate personalized prayers, devotionals, and Bible chapter summaries. AI-generated content is provided for spiritual encouragement and reflection only. It is not a substitute for pastoral care, medical advice, mental health counseling, or professional legal or financial guidance. Always consult a qualified professional for such matters.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or theological correctness of AI-generated content and disclaim liability for decisions you make based on it.

6. Intellectual Property & Data Storage

The app, its design, code, branding, and original content are owned by Rooted In Faith AI and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Bible text is provided by the AO Lab Free Use Bible API and remains subject to the terms of its respective licensors. Music previews are provided by Apple MusicKit and are subject to Apple's terms.

You retain ownership of your journal entries and original community posts. By creating them in the app, you grant us the license necessary to store, back up, sync across your devices, and display them to you. Cloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest and is protected by row-level security so only you can access it.

7. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rooted In Faith AI and its affiliates, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or emotional distress, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the app at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or any other reason we deem necessary to protect the app or its users. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be settled by binding arbitration in Delaware, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email at least 15 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the app after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
